How to make Garam Masala Powder 
 Recipe of Garam Masala


Garam means hot and masala means mix of dry spices.

Prep time - 7 mins
Roast time - 3-4 mins
Grinding time - 2-3 mins
Cuisine - Indian 
Recipe type - Dry spices garam masala

Ingredients:

  • Cinnamon stick - 100 g
  • Star anise - 30 g
  • Nutmeg - 1 piece
  • Black cardamon - 6 g around 10 pieces
  • Green cardamon - 3 g around 20 pieces
  • Black peppercorns - 5 g
  • Bay leaves - 10 g
  • Fennel seeds - 15 g
  • Whole maze - 2 flowers
  • Dry coriander - 1 tablespoon 
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Cloves - 1 tablespoon 


Method:

* For making Garam Masala powder , need 12 types of dry spices.
* Prepare all spices into correct weight.
* Before roasting, crush cinnamon and nutmeg into small pieces.
* Roast hard spices for 2 minutes and small spices for 1 minutes on medium flame until they become medium brown. 
* Leave them for 10 minutes to cool down.
* Cut them into small pieces.
* Grind spices into mixture grinder for 2-3 minute.
* Use flour sifter to get super fine Garam Masala powder.
* Cool it for 5 minutes.
* Fill into glass jar and store it for long time.
