Besan Dhokla Recipe / Dhokla Recipe / How To Make Soft And Spongy Dhokla - Besan Dhokla is Gujarati's pride. Besan Dhokla is a tasty Gujarati snack. This is a popular street food in Gujarat. You can make soft and spongy besan dhokla in less than 30 minutes and you do not need to prepare Batter 6-8 hours in advance. Follow our easy breakfast recipe with step by step method and discover how easy it is to make tasty traditional Dhokla at home.

Ingredients:
- Chickpeas flour (Besan atta) - 1 cup
- Semolina (Suji / Rava) - 1/2 cup
- Yogurt - 1/3 cup
- Chopped green coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida (Hing) - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Chopped green chillies - 2
- Chopped ginger - 1/2 inch
- Chopped garlic cloves - 3
- Curry leaves - 6-8
- Green chilli - 1
- Mustard seeds (Rai) - 1 tsp
- Luke warm water - 1 bowl
- Oil - 4 tbsp
- Eno - 1/2 tsp
Method:
1)Prepare Ingredients.
2) Crush chopped chillies, ginger and garlic and make paste.
3) Take a big bowl and add Besan (Chickpeas) flour and suji rava (Semolina).
4) Add yogurt and Luke warm water and mix it well.
5) Add 2 tbsp oil, paste and mix it well.
6) Add salt, Hing and Turmeric powder and mix it well.
7) Add remaining water and mix it well.
8) Now Dhokla Batter is ready, keep aside for 10 minutes.
9) Take a broad pan and add 1 jug water and put ring inside the pan.
10) Add lemon pieces inside the pan to avoid black stains.
11) Take a Thali (Steel plate) and apply oil in it.
12) Keep Thali on the ring inside the pan, cover the pan and boil water on high flame.
13) Add 1/2 tsp Eno for soft and spongy Dhokla and mix it well.
14) Now Dhokla Batter is ready for making Dhokla.
15) Water is boiling so pour Batter into the Thali, cover the pan and cook it for 12-15 minutes on high flame.
16) After 12-15 minutes, turn off the flame and open the lid.
17) Make cuts/slits on it and give square shape.
18) Sprinkle red chilli powder and chopped green coriander leaves.
19) Heat a Tadka pan on low flame and add 1 tbsp oil in it.
20) Fry green chilli (Optional), add sesame seeds/rai and curry leaves and fry for few seconds.
21) Spread fried mustard seeds on Dhokla.
22) Now, Dhokla is ready, enjoy with green chutney and tomato sauce.
