Fada Lapsi Recipe / Fada Ni Lapsi - Lapsi is one of the most well-known of Gujarati desserts, Lapsi is a very popular sweet dish of roasted and cooked broken wheat sweetened with sugar and flavoured pleasantly with cardamom (Elaichi) powder. Lapsi is a dessert/sweet dish famous in western Indian especially in state of Gujarat. It is often made during festivals. Roasting a broken wheat in ghee gives the lapsi a rich brown colour, intense aroma and nice flavour. The fada lapsi taste amazing as combination of broken wheat and cardamom. often jaggery and milk is used in the preparation but I like simple, old and traditional recipe of adding water and sugar. This is one of the sweets that is commonly made during festivals in Gujarati households. Here, I have presented step by step method so do try this recipe and let me know in the comment section.
** Fada Lapsi Recipe **

Ingredients:
- Broken wheat (Fada lapsi) - 165 g
- Sugar - 85 g
- Desi ghee (Butter) - 1 small bowl
- Mix dry fruits - 1 small bowl
- Fennel seeds (Sauff) - 1 tbsp
- Cardamom (Elaichi) powder - 1 tsp
Method:
PREPARE INGREDIENTS
1) Heat a pan and add 1 small jug water (250) ml.
2) Add sugar, mix dry fruits and sauff (Fennel seeds) and mix it well.
3) Cook it until it starts to boil.
4) Heat another pan and add desi ghee (Butter).
5) Let it melt.
6) Add fada lapsi (Broken wheat), mix and roast it for 6-7 minutes on high flame or till it turns golden brown in colour.
7) Now add boiled water and mix it well.
8) Close the lid and cook it for 5-7 minutes on high flame.
9) After 5-7 minutes, open the lid and mix it.
10) Close the lid and cook it for 5 minutes on medium flame.
11) After 5 minutes, mix it and close the lid and cook it for 3 minutes on low flame.
12) After 3 minutes, fada lapsi is almost done.
13) At last, add elaichi (Cardamom) powder and mix it well.
14) Close the lid and cook it for 3 minutes on low flame.
15) After 3 minutes, fada lapsi is ready to serve.
16) Enjoy fada lapsi on any occasion.
