How to make Kesar Penda - Peda for Diwali - Sweet Peda

Peda recipe  - This is an instant version of making kesar peda. It is made in microwave with condensed milk and milk powder. Doodh Peda is one of the auspicious and traditional Indian sweets that is served as Prasad in religious services. It is also prepared during Diwali and Rakshabandhan festival. Peda is a popular Indian sweet that is traditionally made with khoya/mava or evaporated milk. I have shared the traditional way of making peda from milk powder.

Ingredients:

milk powder - 400 grams
condensed milk - 397 grams
Unsalted butter -  2 tablespoon
milk - 2 spoon with 10 cloves  kesar
elaichi (cardamom) powder - 1 teaspoon

Recipe:

1) First, get a bowl and put 2 tablespoon of (melted) unsalted butter.

2) Then put condensed milk in the mixture and mix it.

3) Then put powdered milk in the bowl and mix it thoroughly to make sure there are no lumps left.

4) Put kesar milk in there for color and taste. Mix this too.

5) Put this in the microwave for one minute.

6) After one minute, mix this again.

7) Put some elaichi powder for taste then mix it

8) Put it back in the microwave for one minute.

9) Repeat steps 5 and 6 about 4 times.

10) Let it cool. Then roll out the mixture and shape it into a pendo and decorate it with dryfruits.

11) That's it, enjoy your penda and happy diwali.
